GET TO KNOW ME
I have been working in the mental health field for over twenty years in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, outpatient community mental health, an eating disorders program, an EAP, and eventually group private practices. Over time, I have found my passion in working with clients of all ages struggling with anxiety, as well as helping families and couples heal relationships. I offer a Christian perspective to those seeking a more faith-based approach. I recently decided to start my own private practice as a way to challenge myself, just as I encourage my clients to step outside their "comfort zones."
My approach to counseling is wholistic, as I look at all aspects of each client, including their physical, spiritual, mental and emotional health. Often many mental or emotional symptoms are due to various imbalances in the body. These are not always evident. Therefore, I work closely with clients' physicians to gain a clearer understanding of possible underlying causes of their anxiety and/or depressive symptoms. As a registered yoga teacher for over ten years, teaching for 16 years, I have learned how the mind and body are interconnected and how to address "mental" health wholistically.
